Resilience
A measure of strength.Strength is measured by resilience. This is true of people, organizations, communities and nations. We stand in awe of the remarkable resilience of the citizens of London during the Bomb Blitz in World War II. That personal and national strength was a key factor in the Allies ultimately winning the war. We admire the physical, mental and spiritual strength of athletes like Lance Armstrong who came back from a life threatening illness to become the undisputed world champion, not once but several times. And recently we are encouraged by the resilience of the citizens in Haiti and Chile as the suffering the consequences of devastating earthquakes. We could go on of course. Resiliency equals strength because the ultimate test for any person, organization or community is how they respond when everything is on the line. How strong is your organization, your community? At O’Brien’s we understand what it takes to build organization and community resilience.
